STATISTICS SEMINAR – Apr. 15

Join Dr. April Gislason, the Research Facilitator in Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba for their talk on Thursday, April 15th about “NSERC Discovery Grants – Best Practices for Preparing a Strong Application”.

ABSTRACT:

The goal of this seminar is to provide information that will be helpful for both early career and established researchers planning to apply to the NSERC Discovery Grants program this year. The presentation will cover recent changes to the program, the evaluation process, and selection criteria. Best practices will be discussed including tips for writing a strong research proposal, developing your training plan for highly qualified personnel and considerations for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Information about resources available to Faculty of Science researchers will be shared including details on the Faculty’s internal peer review program.
