Research and Teaching Interests
Hometown: Rosser Manitoba; B.Sc. (University of Winnipeg)
Research project: Design and synthesis of new ligands and study of their coordination to a variety of transition metals. We are studying unique redox activity and reactivity of different metal complexes as well as hope to pursue catalysis in the future.
Reason for coming to U. Manitoba: I have always been very interested in inorganic/organometallic chemistry with green energy applications and Dr. Herbert’s research seemed to align with these interests. I like being part of a relatively small group and we have all the equipment and resources necessary for this type of research (XRD, NMR, UV-vis, etc.)
Other interests: Sports (baseball, hockey, volleyball), camping
