Involving the President of the University
If the event is a ceremonial event such as a Building Opening, Ground Breaking or Building Dedication, or one of significant importance in which you hope to involve the President of the University, and other dignitaries contact the Office of the Dean. We will evaluate your event and guide you as to the next steps in terms of securing the President’s time and engaging key partners, including Public Affairs, Government Relations and more.
If you do not require assistance with an event but wish the President to speak at it, you may contact

If the event is a donor recognition event such as a dinner or luncheon, you should call the Dean’s Communications Office at email@example.com and the Donor Relations Advancement and Development team at firstname.lastname@example.org.If the event is an alumni event such as a reunion or celebration, first call should be to the Dean’s Communications Office, email email@example.com Even if you plan on executing the whole event within your own unit, the Communication Office team and Office of Advancement and Development can provide many useful resources and ways to connect with Alumni & Friends of the Faculty.
Faculty or Departmental Event
If you are planning an event on campus and need guidance and information, below is some information and contacts you might find useful. Ceremonies and Events will also provide guidance in planning your event strategy including the format of the event, programming, type of event, or number of speakers. Our office will also provide advice on protocol in relation to speaking order, flags, forms of address, invitations, press releases and any other protocol issues that arise.
