Database Curator for the EcoCyc Database (posted February 2022)
SRI International seeks a Biological Database Curator to work on expanding and refining microbial databases in the BioCyc.org website. This position will be primarily concerned with curation of the EcoCyc database for Escherichia coli K-12. The main duties will include reviewing, evaluating, and organizing information from the literature, and entering that information into BioCyc. In the longer term the position could include managerial, grant-writing, and research opportunities in the biocuration and computational biology areas.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bacterial Genomics, or a related field
Familiarity with use of biological databases
We will consider applicants at all levels; experience in biocuration and/or bioinformatics will be a strong plus
