Research and Teaching Interests

My research focus is on plant-microbe interactions and plant-associated microbiomes, particularly in relation to agricultural productivity and sustainability. Some of our current study systems include fusarium head blight disease of small grain crops, microbiome dynamics during malting, and linking microbiology with concepts of soil health.
