University 1

Your first year of university is a big step toward accomplishing your future goals and the University of Manitoba is committed to helping you succeed.  The University 1 website has resources to guide all new students through their first year.

U of M Orientation

U of M Orientation is one of the largest events on campus, involving over 6,000 students, staff, and volunteers. This event will introduce you to the U of M campus and prepare you for university life with academic sessions and workshops, and provides a fun opportunity to meet fellow students!

Offered next: September 4, 2018; students are automatically registered upon course registration, and will be contacted with more information.

Student Life

Student Life runs programs on orientation and conducts campus tours for new students.  Once you start University, they connect you to leadership and service learning opportunities, creating connections to local and international communities.  Make the most of your University experience and get involved!

Whether you’re applying to one of our residence halls or you’re looking for help with an off-campus apartment search, the University of Manitoba can help! Visit the Student Residences site or Off-Campus Housing resource site.

To live in student housing, you must be a full-time status, which means you need at least 9 credits per term, which means 18 credits per fall/winter session.
